The Neptune Lounge
Jan. 18th, 2024 10:17 pm
This converted casino/bar is home to The Neptune Lounge, designed as a home away from home for all those from pre-1950s eras and cultures who need an adjustment period, or simply the periodic respite, from the perils of modernity. A place where one can order a simple, old-fashioned drink, get to know a new friend or potential contract partner over tea and sandwiches, smoke indoors, play some cards, make quota in more comfortable and discreet ways, and overall, acclimate at their own pace while finding community with other like-minded sorts. Turn in your devices, phones, smart watches, computers, and anything else with a screen or a recording function at the door; we value conversation and privacy here.
⚜︎ CODE OF CONDUCT
- Network devices, phones, smart watches, and any other sort of technological devices with recording and/or transmission capabilities are not allowed within the lounge. Patrons will be asked to check them at the door to be stored safely and then claimed again later upon exit. Employees may keep their phones and devices, but they're to be silenced and not seen outside of employee areas.
⚓︎ FEATURES
For like specific features / rooms / whatever etc! The main area of the lounge, dedicated to a bar serving all of your traditional favorites without the modern fluff, cozy leather seating for meaningful, non-electronic conversation, and a general reprieve from modern life. A section a little quieter, for more intimate meetings (but not too intimate) or small groups such as book clubs, hobby circles, or just those looking for a brighter atmosphere than the dark liquor and cigarette smoke in the main club. For the gamblers, this room is sectioned off so the scoundrels need not necessarily rub elbows with all the prim and proper ladies. Card and dice games galore, most of which are predictably old-fashioned, but the dealers ideas are taken into account, too. Place your bets carefully, these dealers are well-versed in magic. No good club in Duplicity is complete without private rooms for rent, is it? There are eight candlelit rooms in total -- half are furnished with sturdy four-poster beds, complimentary lube, and slightly anachronistic collections of implements for patrons to please each other with. What better place to explore your desires than here, as close to home as some period folks might find in this world? The other half are dominated by a table and chairs, with a rather more subtle day bed against a wall. A good place for a business meeting, or for those not ready to admit what they're here for.
