For me personally I just don't feel like I deserve it sometimes
The better I know someone the easier it is to handle, like I almost never feel weird about it from my partner unless he's being like really fucking excessive and tbh at that point it's more like "you're talking too much and it's distracting me"

Usually, praise helps a man gain confidence, not lose it. You could consider taking complements as given honestly.
